1. Why am I using Bactrim?

Bactrim contains the active ingredient SMZ-DEX-A. Bactrim is used to treat infections caused by susceptible gram-negative bacteria in the urinary tract (such as bacterial vaginosis and trichomonas vaginitis), lower respiratory tract infections, and certain types of infections of the skin (such as pyoderma, septicemia, and meningitis).

Your doctor may have prescribed Bactrim for another reason.

Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to SMZ-DEX-A or any of the ingredients listed at the end of the CMI.
